The 9th Cambridge-U°®¶¹´«Ã½Joint Symposium - Navigating the Future and Reflecting on the Past -

Since signing the Strategic Partnership Agreement in March 2015, the University of °®¶¹´«Ã½and the University of Cambridge have hosted joint symposia on an annual basis, alternating between the two institutions. In 2025, the Ninth Cambridge-U°®¶¹´«Ã½Joint Symposium will be held at the University of Tokyo.
UTokyo-Cambridge Voices, started in 2020, is a series of conversations held between researchers of the University of °®¶¹´«Ã½and the University of Cambridge regarding a specific aspect of their research. This dialogue series is hosted by the two institutions under the framework of the ¡°Strategic Partnership¡± and explores research from a range of academic disciplines.
This year¡¯s symposium will feature a main session on March 27 titled ¡°Global Warming and Sustainability¡± and three parallel sessions on the following themes: 1) Global Dialogues: Making Intersectional Space for Studying Gender and Race in and with Japan; 2) Engineering for the Future; 3) Translating Engineering Biology from the Bench to the Bioeconomy. Additionally, UTokyo-Cambridge Voices research sessions will be held concurrently on March 28. Some sessions will be open to online participation.
