Unutilized biological resources-derived substances, including microalga products, are screened by using medaka and mice to see if they have any neuronal cell activation activity. In order to clarify their mode of action at the cellular level, we use advanced operand techniques such as raster image cross correlation spectroscopy and morphological profiling. This enables us to develop safer substances that can potentially act as anti-stress and anti-aging ingredients. As our ultimate goal, we are establishing a guideline for new candidate compounds through elucidating their mode of action and making their practical application in the medical and food fields.
