The University Museum, the University °®¶¹´«Ã½(UMUT) promotes research of global significance related to scientific objects and specimens. The UMUT¡¯s collection of over 3.4 million items forms the basis of our research ranging from the solar system to the origins of humans and civilizations, to historically academic heritage materials. We center our activities on the ¡°UMUT Hall of Inspiration,¡± a newly opened permanent exhibit that showcases research laboratory activities within the public exhibit domain. We also annually conduct special exhibits within the ¡°UMUT Hall of Inspiration,¡± as well as exhibits at the Koishikawa Annex, the JP Tower Museum Intermediateque, and other facilities. Through our outreach activities, we seek to spread new results of materials-based research from a broad perspective and show the necessity for long-term and balanced futuristic views of nature, humans and social systems.
