Japanese Honor Conferred on IRCN Director Takao Hensch at Ceremony

Dr. Takao Hensch, IRCN Director (concurrently Professor at Harvard University’s Center for Brain Science and Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology, as well as at Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School), was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon, in the 2024 Autumn Conferment of Decorations on Foreign Nationals.
On August 27, 2025 a conferment ceremony was held at the official residence of the Consul-General of Japan in Boston to honor his distinguished achievement. The event was attended by eminent guests, including Nobel Laureate Dr. Susumu Tonegawa, and celebrated Dr. Hensch’s pioneering contributions to neuroscience as well as his significant role in fostering U.S.-Japan academic exchange. ¡¡
