We are pleased to announce that we will hold a special lecture and dialogue session with Mr. Eduardo Pedrosa, Executive Director of the APEC Secretariat, who is visiting Japan under the invitation program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.
APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) is a regional economic forum established in 1989 to promote sustainable growth and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region. Since its inception, APEC has engaged in a wide range of activities – including trade and investment liberalization and facilitation, regional economic integration, and the implementation of economic and technical cooperation projects – through close collaboration between government, business, and academia across its 21 member economies. This event is specifically designed for university students in Japan. As outlined below, Mr. Eduardo Pedrosa, Executive Director of the APEC Secretariat, will deliver a lecture and engage in an interactive Q&A session with participants, targeting students belonging to Japanese universities, with the aim of deepening understanding of APEC's role and Japan’s expected role in fostering sustainable growth and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region as well as the significance of youth engagement in APEC activities.
We encourage those of you interested in international economics and regional cooperation to attend this event.
