※Application for the Oiwake International Village is only made available for doctoral
    course students enrolled or either already determined to be enrolled at UTokyo.

〶〶〶〶The independent type rooms for students are pretty much occupied right now.
〶〶〶〶For those wanting to secure a room at the dorm, please be sure to include the shared type
            rooms as well among your choices.

〶〶〶〶*Your options for the shared type rooms are not to ensure your room assignment
               at the dorm since there is always a screening process based on room availability.

MEJIRODAI INTERNATIONAL VILLAGE

All students enrolled at UTokyo
 
 ※Students under the process of getting enrolled at Uýare also eligible to apply with the
      insertion of their examinees' numbers.

      ▶Internship students will need to priorly confirm their eligibilty with the persons in
     〶 charge of international students at their own affiliated faculty/departments at UTokyo
         before applying.

      ▶
Students on leave of absence are not eligible to apply for their stay except for
〶〶〶 those 
who are to reenroll from the month they wish to move-in on condition that
          their requested 
period of stay is to remain within their regular term of enrollment
          for their student's course duration at UTokyo.

●TERM OF STAY
   
The starting date of stay at Mejirodai is basically set from the first day of each month.
   No early stays are permitted prior to one's term of enrollment at the university.
   Students are able to renew their permits up to the end of their regular term of enrollment 
   for their student's course duration at UTokyo.
   Term of Permit: one year at maximum, renewal fee required for permit renewal

●RENT PAYMENT
   
All fees will be billed based on the permitted term of residence printed on the "Notification
   of Admission." Rents at Mejirodai will need to be prepaid by the 25th day of each 
   
previous month.

pproximate amount needed for your initial bill payment after move-in:
      Entrance Fee per room type+Mattress Cover Payment+(Monthly Accommodation           
          + 
Monthly Maintenance+Monthly Utilities Fee per room type)x 2 months

Purchasement of the mattress cover(Single:JPY3,630, Double:JPY4,290)
            is obligatory for all incoming residents.
Single Shared A/B  ※Each room is a private room equipped with a single bed plus desk 
   & chair inside. Restrooms, showers, kitchen, and laudries are to be
   shared with the other residents living in the same residential block.
〶All places need to be kept clean and tidy by the self management   
   of the residents. Residents are required to store their personal 
   belongings only inside their own rooms.
Shared C/D/R/S
Independent Type E ※T type room residents will need to use the ground floor kitchen
   for cooking as there is no stove equipped inside the rooms.
   In addition, E & T type room residents are asked to use the
   common laundry since the rooms do not come with a washing
   machine.
Independent Type T

 Couple
Independent Type G ※Two single living spaces are connected by a cooking space in
   between. All furniture cannot be removed even for single use.

   is not equipped with a washing machine.
Independent Type H ※Rooms equipped with restroom, kitchen, shower/bath,
   and washing machine.

・Number of vacancies of each room type are not made public since numbers are always unstable.
Please wait patiently for the outcome of your application.
・No corrections will be accepted after the due date of application.
・There are no washing machines equipped for the E, T, and G type rooms.
Please use the common coin laundry which you will need to pay per each cycle.
・Actual room size of the same type may differ due to unavoidable reasons of the construction work.
・No preferences for the details of room assignment (floor number, room direction, etc.) will
be accepted. If you are to have any special requests for consideration, please formerly consult
the UýHousing Office in which case you will basically be asked to prepare an official
document (medical certificate, etc.) to support your request.

※We may not always be able to meet your request due to room availability.
・The Entrance Fee is a non-refundable fee that is not treated as a security deposit.

 
OIWAKE INTERNATIONAL VILLAGE  ※Only applicable for doctoral course students

Students enrolled or already determined to be enrolled for their doctoral course studies
   at UTokyo.

   ▶Students on leave of absence are not eligible to apply for their stay except for those
   〶who are to reenroll from the month they wish to move-in on condition that their requested 
   〶 period of stay is to remain within their regular term of enrollment for their doctoral course
       duration at the UTokyo.


●TERM OF STAY
 
Students are able to renew their permits up to the end of their regular term of enrollment 
   for their doctoral course duration at UTokyo.
  Term of Permit: one year at maximum, renewal fee needed for permit renewal

●RENT PAYMENT
All rents at the Oiwake International Village need to be paid by the 20th day of each month.

Research students and internshiip students are unable to apply for the Oiwake Village.
Single 14m2(108 ) All rooms equipped with a mini-kitchen, refrigerator and modular bathroom.
※Need to use the common laudry since the rooms do not come
   with a washing mashine.
Couple 392(4) All rooms equipped with a kitchen, refrigerator, bathroom and washing machine.

Room type cannot be chosen. Rooms to be assigned based on the number         of vacancies at the time of each round of screening.

Family 532(8) All rooms equipped with a kitchen, refrigerator, bathroom and washing machine. The bunk bed inside the kid's room allows to accommodate up to 2 children.

A Login Password is required to make an application through OSTA. If you do not know the password, please contact the person in charge of support for international students at your faculty, graduate school, research institute or research center that you are to belong at Uýor the UýHousing Office.

Schedule from Application to Notification of Result
  • Monthly Deadline for Application・・・the 25th day of each month (JST24:00)
  • Notification of the Selection Result・・・around the 15th day of the following month
  • The Earliest Possible Move-In Date・・・from the first day of the second month from

   ※Applications for Mejirodai and Oiwake are both accepted 6 months prior to

Couple & Family Room Applications 
For your couple/family stays at the Mejirodai International Village and/or Oiwake International Village, you are required to submit the following document at the time of application to certify
your relationship with your co-habitant(s).

・An official document verifying the relationship between the applicant and the person(s)
   who wish to live together.
   →SEND DOCUMDNT TO:
 
   ※Documents Accepted: Marriage Certificates, Certificates of Residence (with all relative
                                        names), Partnership Certificates, etc.
      If unsure what to send, please contact the UýHousing Office.


※Stays by couples on romantic relationships are not accepted at the dorms.


Applications in Need of Special Consideration 
If you are to have any special requests for consideration in regard of your room assignment at the
Mejirodai International Village and/or Oiwake Intrnational Village, please formerly consult
the UýHousing Office in which case you will basically be asked to prepare an official
document (medical certificate, host professor letter, etc.) to support your request.
※We may not always be able to meet your request due to room availability.
 
Applications for Renewal
Renewal of contract is available for both Mejirodai and Oiwake.
Basically, renewals are admitted up to the end of the regular term of enrollment for the
student’s course duration at Uýas an undergraduate or graduate student. 
No further renewals can be accepted beyond one's regular term of enrollment at the university.
If you are to have any special requests for consideration, please formerly consult the 
UýHousing Office in which case you will basically need to prepare an official document
(medical certificate, host professor letter, etc.) to support your request.

  We may not always be able to meet your request due to room availability.

Contract renewals accompanying one's change of course of study at the university
   will be handled as a separate new application requiring a room change at Mejirodai.

 
Applications for Relocation
If you are relocating from one of the International Lodges or International Halls of Residence,
specify so in the "Notes" column of your online application form along with your expected
date of move-out, so that you may be allowed to move-in seamlessly to your new place of stay.


 
Privacy Policy 

All personal information obtained as at the time of application will only be used for the purpose of the selection process and the management/operation of the Uýaccommodations with the relevant Uýdepartments and would not be used for any other objective whatsoever.
